About me
For many years I’ve been fascinated by the potential of transforming the interior of a home, whether it’s a living space, kitchen, bathroom or even a bedroom.
I spent 20 years working in visual merchandising for well known retail brands, most recently working for BHS before I left last year after the much publicized Company closure.
I quickly decided to use the opportunity to follow my dream, and in 2016, set up Samantha Wortley Interior Designs. With hobbies ranging from upholstery, upcycling and creating drift wood sculptures, this seemed a natural progression of my professional career and combined my passion for interior design with my previous experience and skills.
I retrained at the British Academy of Interior Design and quickly built up a portfolio of residential projects in and around London.
I love discovering ideas for room layouts, materials and furnishings, and then finding interesting ways to use them. At the start of a project, I enjoy getting to know my clients personally and helping them create their dream homes. I like a house to feel homely, somewhere you can’t wait to get back to every day. Using beautiful yet practical furnishings to suit your budget, making you content in your own space.
Everyone wants to know how much it costs. I say, you don’t have to be a celebrity to employ an interior designer! It can be affordable and I like to think any input, no matter how big or small, would add value to your home.
What I provide is a bespoke but flexible range of services. Time is something we’re all short of, and this is where I can help. Whether it be at the ideas stage or full end to end project management, I look forward to hearing from you to discuss your needs.
